This is a super interesting topic and once I looked into it I fell down a rabbit hole of studies. Apparently swearing has been linked to better vocabulary, honesty, better credibility and better camaraderie among friends. The researcher, Dr. Emma Bryne – who specializes in AI and Neruoscience – brings up some interesting points. Check it out.
The Pros And Cons Of Letting Your Kids Play Fortnite
Fortnite is the latest online game taking over the teen and tween (and adult?) gaming world. If you’re not sure what Fortnite, or Fortnite Battle Royale is, it’s a co-op survival game, where the point of the game is to survive. Local blogger and top-rated radio host for XL 103 Buzz Bishop, shares a great post about the pros and cons of letting your kids play. Read it here.
Illustrated story books are better for kids’ brains than video or text, study finds
I’m sure this study will come as no surprise to most but researchers at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital have found in a recent study that good old fashioned picture books are best for kids. Read more here.
