If your summers are anything like mine then your weekends are packed with activities, family, friends and enjoying as much outdoor fun as you can. And while that's all great, I find we get to the end of August and are like "holy shit how is summer over??"

This often doesn't leave much time for connection with your partner, so here are ten fun date ideas in Calgary to reconnect and have some laughs before winter comes.

1. Take a Stroll Along Prince’s Island Park and the East Village

Prince’s Island Park offers beautiful views of the Bow River, and the East Village offers plenty of nearby cafes for a coffee stop or bars for a drink. This part of the city is a serene spot to connect, enjoy each other’s company and people-watch.

2. Cozy Up at a Local Coffee Shop

Escape the hustle and bustle with a relaxed coffee date. Check out a local café like Phil & Sebastian or Analog Coffee for some quality brews and a cozy atmosphere. Enjoy a long chat over lattes and pastries – simple, yet delightful.

3. Explore the Calgary Zoo’s Wild After Hours: ZooDunnit

Head to the Calgary Zoo for a brand new live murder mystery game. Gather clues, engage with a shady cast of characters and enjoy food and drinks throughout the zoo. This adults-only night will have your team of detectives on your toes as you discover who is ‘lion’.
